All About Me

Hello, my name is Jacqui and I created Embroidery Scene in 2009. All items listed on the Embroidery Scene website have been embroidered and sewn by me.

Sewing has always been a hobby of mine, originally learning to sew on an old manual Singer sewing machine. When I was younger I used to make most of the clothes that I wore for work as well as evening wear and even party dresses.

Later on, when I became a busy mum, my sewing hobby was set aside for a while, as family commitments took up more of my time. Now that my family has grown up, I am able to spend time sewing again, this time creating craft and home-ware products.

Several years ago, I upgraded my sewing machine to a combined sewing and embroidery machine, and I discovered the delights of machine embroidery. I enjoy designing and creating different gift ideas as a way to show off the embroidery.

Some of the embroidery designs used on my products have been created by and purchased from various online machine embroidery designers. Recently, however, I purchased an embroidery design software and am now learning to create my own embroidery designs, which is a very exciting challenge. Although I still continue to use some of the bought designs, I now also use a lot of my own designs on my products.

The inspiration for the embroidery designs comes from my love of nature. I love wildlife, as well as animals, birds and flowers.
